On page 179, Peter asks Kit if she can whistle. Peter still seems to underestimate Kit because she is a girl. Why do you think so?
Maybe Peter feels overprotective of Kit and feels ‘in charge’. He doesn’t want his friend to get hurt. Peter would feel bad. I don’t think it’s because she is a girl, but just because she is his friend.
2.On page 192, Peter runs away from Anthony Duncan. What qualities do you think it takes to run away like that, being hurt and all? Would you have done the same? Why?
To run away like that, I think it takes courage, determination, force and endurance to run. I would have done the same. If I hadn’t run away, Anthony Duncan would have maybe hurt me because I knew too much about his plan. It would have been now or never.
3.On page 198, Peter tries to hurt Duncan. Why do you think so?
I think it’s because Peter still doubts Duncan. Although he’s being really nice to him, he’s still an enemy and wanted to kill Tom and the Queen. Duncan is probably being nice to soften up Peter and to fool him. All he wants is his plan to work.
4.On page 211, Peter kills one of the men that were chasing him. How would you have felt if you had murdered someone?
I would feel very sad, even though the person I had killed was supposedly my enemy. I had fought so hard to win this battle, and I would feel guilty about winning. Then, I would try to rejoice myself that one of us had to be killed and that I almost arrived in London.
5.On page 214, Peter tells his parents the whole story about assassinating the Queen. Would you have told your parents about such a big secret? Why or why not?
As Peter did, I would have told my parents. I would trust them enough not to tell anybody. There just wouldn’t be time for any secrecy, and them not knowing might screw up our plans.

This passage starts out by Peter being guarded by Sir Philip's men. Then Peter runs away and two of Sir Philip's men run after him. Peter pushes one of the men down a cliff and dies. The other guard is scared and stops chasing Peter. So Peter ran and swam all the way home in Cumberland. Kit was there with his family and he was safe and sound, until Sir Philip showed up at his door and asked to search for Peter. Then Peter and Kit started running to the neighbors. They told them to go and deliver a letter that Kit wrote to tell the Queens that someone is going to try to murder her. The gave their horses to the neighbors so they can go back to London and give the message to the Queen.
